Director Bryan Barber, who was axed from ABC’s TV series Black-ish based on his own life, is mourning the sudden death of his 8-year-old son.  Barber 48, took to social media to share the sad news of his loss. In an Instagram video paying tribute to his deceased son, he writes:

Thank you for everything son. I’ll never forget you and what you brought into my life. Endless smiles, laughs and tickles 🤗. You made me live again. You were a gentleman and you made me better. You made an impact and contribution to the world through your kindness. You were my hero, you were also my best friend and will always be. Keep smiling until I see you again. Say hi to Prince for me. I love you with all my heart forever. Love forever Dad.

Barber is best known for directing rap music videos for some of Hip-Hop major artists.  In 2016, Barber filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris, Wilmore Films, and two production companies. The suit alleges breach of contract and fraud for stealing the idea for the hit TV series, without giving him credit or compensation. He now sought to collect more than $1 million in damages.
